Emergency Wharf Damage Repairs
Location: New Orleans,
LA
Project Description:
This emergency wharf repair project required LH&J to conduct damage assessments
and prepare plans and specifications for emergency repairs to the piling, concrete structure and fendering system
at the Port of New Orleans’ Napoleon Avenue Wharf. The work was performed on an emergency basis to minimize the
operational impacts to this busy wharf and container shipping facility. |

Nashville Ave. Container Storage Yards

Project Description:
LH&J prepared plans and specifications and also assisted during construction
for the upgrading of this active container storage area. Improvements included new heavy duty concrete pavements,
lighting fencing and drainage improvements. |

Alabo
Street Wharf
Location: New Orleans, LA
Project Description:
LH&J performed all engineering analyses and prepared the construction documents
for this major wharf construction project. This 3 Berth facility featured a 340,000 square foot pile supported
concrete wharf with 7 acres of Upland Storage Yards, 4000 feet of Railroad Tracks and all supporting site utilities. |

Alabo
Street Transit Shed
Location: New Orleans, LA
Project Description:
The 122,000 square foot Alabo Transit Shed was constructed as a part of
the Alabo Street Terminal Improvements. The shed was designed by LH&H to allow cargo transfer to and
from ships, trucks and rail cars and made extensive use of natural lighting to reduce operational costs.

Container Crane Maintenance Building

Project Description:
The new 6,000 square foot 2 story Crane Maintenance Building at the Port of New Orleans’
the Napoleon Avenue Wharf provides the Crane Maintenance Crew with a modern and efficient repair shop with storage,
office, restroom and training facilities. LH&J prepared the architectural design and developed the construction documents.

Louisiana Cement Terminal
Location: New Orleans, LA
Project Description:
LH&J prepared the construction documents for a new unloading wharf,
structures and foundations for a 2,000 tons per hour conveyor transfer system and product storage
structures as an expansion to the operational facility. The wharf was designed to accommodate 35,000
DWT vessels on the outboard face and barges on the inside face.

Port of
New Orleans Post-Katrina Portwide Damage Assessment
Location: New Orleans, LA
Project Description:
LH&J performed assessments of Port of New Orleans facilities on both the
East and West Banks to assess and document damages caused by Hurricane Katrina and to provide repair cost
estimates that were used by the Board as a basis to seek recovery and repair costs from their insurers and FEMA.
Nineteen separate wharves, along with their Transit Sheds, Aprons & Marshalling Yards, were evaluated and damages
in excess of $42 million were documented.
