COURTHOUSE
Location: Pointe A la Hache, LA
Project Description:
The Plaquemines Parish Courthouse was a multi-phased
twenty-one million dollar demolition, preservation, and
new construction project designed to return the 25th Judicial
District courts and government offices to the original parish
seat in Pointe A la Hache, LA after it was destroyed by
arson in 2002. The new courthouse is 40,000 square feet and
provides the community with two full service courtrooms,
offices for the District Attorney, Public Defender,
Clerk of Courts, Parish Assessor, Sheriff’s Office, parish
council chambers and offices. The project was completed and
put into service in July 2019.

The Architecture Studio at Linfield, Hunter & Junius was started in 1987 to
complement the company’s well established civil and structural engineering
departments. Under the management of the studio’s director the studio is
composed of a talented and experienced architectural staff of architects,
designers, specification writers, LEED professionals, historic preservationists,
and drafters enabling the studio to provide complete innovative design
